70th Anniversary Operation Avalanche – Salerno Day

Like last year, lots of people accompanied us on the journey of sounds, words and images, which have brought us to the days of ’43, with the show of “Salerno Day“, in the spectacular setting of the Barbuti.

Before the show, the prize “Mario Perrotta” was gived to Orazio Boccia, entrepreneur and owner of the company present at Salerno and abroad. Deserved prize for a rare person, able to build a solid company, employing a large number of orphans grew between many difficulties, like him, at the orphanage Umberto I, known at the time as “The Menagerie.”

Then was the moment of the “Salerno Day“, to commemorate the Allied landing on 9 September 1943. Eduardo Scotti, Gilda Conchita De Luca Ricci presented an evening full of texts, images, memories, moods, memories, poems, oral histories that have made us take a leap in the events of 70 years ago now.

The music was curated by Guido Cataldo and his band, the iconographic and historical researches by Nicola Oddati, Eduardo Scotti and Corradino Pellecchia.

The Association “Colori Mediterranei” and the Bottega San Lazzaro also presented the photo exhibition: “The places of Salerno Day“.
